Overview:

The Asset Management → Network Group section allows administrators to define and manage network environments for monitoring. This includes configuring probes, IP ranges, credentials, and data retention policies to enable effective infrastructure monitoring.


Navigation Path:

Settings → Configurations → Asset Management → Network Group



Network Group List View:

This page displays all configured network groups.

Key Fields:

  • Network Name: Name of the configured network group
  • Scan Host IP: IP address of the probe used for scanning
  • Actions:
    • Edit Network Group
    • Delete Network Group

Available Actions:

  • Manage Group Name: Create or manage network groups
  • Export: Download network group data 


Edit / Create Network Group:

1. Select New / Existing Group

  • Choose whether to:
    • Create New Group
    • Edit Existing Group

2. Network Group

  • Select or define the Network Group Name
  • Example: usergroup


Probe Configuration:

Monitoring Type

Defines where the probe is deployed:

  • Probe On-Network
    • Used when the probe is inside the same network
    • Recommended for internal infrastructure monitoring
  • Probe On-Cloud
    • No probe needed in the customer's environment (cloud-based)
    • Suitable for monitoring public-facing assets

Probe Details

  • Probe Name: Identifier for the probe
  • Scan Host IP: IP address of the probe machine



Domain Configuration:

Domain Credential

Used for authenticated scanning:

  • Domain Name
  • Username
  • Password

IP Range Configuration

Defines network segments to scan.

Fields:

  • IP Range (CIDR format)
    Example: 192.168.30.0/24
  • Label/Name
    Example: Lab, Database

Actions:

  •  Add new IP range
  •  Remove IP range 

Add Domain

Allows adding multiple domains if required.


Public IP Configuration:

Used to define externally accessible IPs.

Fields:

  • Public IP Address
  • Label (e.g., ISP/Location)
  • Priority / Weight (optional)

Actions:

  • Add Public IP
  • Remove Public IP

Data Retention Settings:

Data Retention Days

  • Defines how long monitoring data is stored
  • Example: 15 days 

Archived Days

  • Devices not reachable for this duration are archived
  • Archived devices will not generate alerts
  • Example: 7 days

Probe Management:

Add Probe

  • Allows adding additional probes within the same network group
  • Useful for:
    • Distributed environments
    • Load balancing monitoring tasks
    • Redundancy

Additional Fields:

Comment

  • Optional field for notes or descriptions
  • Helps in documentation and clarity

Actions

  • Update: Save changes
  • Cancel: Discard changes
